Meet Heather
I have been drawing since I could hold a crayon, and have always been in love with art. I would spend hours as a child trying to sketch what I was looking at. My passion for art continued through schooling where I received a Bachelors Degree of Fine Arts in Art Education, and a Master of Arts in Studio Art. I then went on to have a wonderful career as an art teacher for many years, and also a special educator.
When I had my third baby, I decided to retire from teaching and stay home with her. At home, even as busy as I was, I realized I needed to pursue a creative outlet. I started making custom step stools for gifts, hence the name... Preppy "Stepps!"
My little business branched from there to include wall plaques, piggy banks, ornaments, and most recently custom bottles.
Preppy Stepps has become the place where any special gift can be created for every step through life.
I have created bottles for weddings, company events, home closings, bachelorette parties, celebrity clients, and even non-alcoholic bottles for our younger clients events. I encourage a challenge!
I find that custom personalized gifts end up being the recipient’s favorite gift. There’s nothing like receiving a one-of-a-kind gift someone has created for you, and only you!
Thank you for reaching out to Preppy Stepps! I am honored you found me, and I am looking forward to making special gifts for you to gift to a loved one, or for you to keep for yourself!
I currently live on Long Island, New York, and am happily married to my husband Andrew, an engineer, and the proud mother of two boys and a girl.
